What the winery says about the John Forrest Collection Waitaki Pinot Noir 2009

The grapes for this wine are selected from the warmest sites in our vineyards. Rich, inky, dark cherry coloured wine with big bright sweet red fruit; intense aromas of cherry, cranberries and raspberry; with an earthen herbal note. Baked rhubarb and damson plums come through on this sweet, savoury palate. Pinot Noir with a strong backbone of chalky, fine drying tannins, focused acidity. It’s nicely integrated, complex, with excellent balance and persistent length - simply stunning! Only 1400 bottles produced.
