What the winery says about Gibbston Valley Pinot Noir . . . .

Our aim for the China Terrace Pinot Noir is to faithfully represent the nature of the vineyard, with definitive red fruit, densely understated elegance, and savoury omnipresent textural components all showing. Deep Pinot Noir red. Complex nose, with suffused regal blueberry aromatics offsetting higher red fruits, some spicy cinnamon tones, and underlying quality oak. The palate has some sweet red toned fruit, infused all the way with a mineral savoury core. China Terrace never teeters into opulence or bigness; rather it stays in a delicious understated mould, with layers of well groomed fruit prevailing. Refined savoury tannins integrate from mid palate back.

What we say . . . .

This wine from Gibbstons Bendigo site, displays all the typical Bendigo charcters I love and more... On the nose, it bursts with aromas of blueberry, cedar wood and alluring vanilla. On the palate it has generous red fruits with a touch of cinnamon spice and very appealing savoury undertones. We think this wine shows great promise, although drinking well now, it will only get  better with age.
